Work From Home

Work From Home

If you’ve ever thought that you might like to work from home, now is the time to do it. Gas prices are up and wages are down. Employers are learning the benefits of allowing people to work from home, and employees are enjoying their own set of work from home benefits. Not to mention it’s the environmentally friendly thing to do.

Gasoline prices are up, wages are down, unemployment rates are up, company morale is down. This whole yo-yo cycle could be taken care of just by employers allowing people to work from home. Most work can be sent and received via file attachments in e-mail, and those who can’t send their work from home can stop in the office once a week to turn in their projects and pick up new ones, saving four days worth of driving costs.

Employers are learning that when they allow employees to work from home the employees are happier and therefore are more productive. The employer saves the overhead that it takes to house an employee such as office space, electric, telephone bills, printer paper and ink, and even coffee if the employer provides it. Happier and more productive employees will stay with the company longer, too, which means the company saves the added expense of hiring and training a new person as often.

Employees see the benefits of being able to work from home in savings. Time and money is saved by not having to commute to work every day. They don’t have to pay for child care or lunches out every day, which makes them healthier overall. They also like to be able to work on their own time in many cases, or at least be able to take a break and throw some laundry in the wash during the day.

The environment may see the most benefit of all from people opting to work fro home. The carbon emissions from the commute to and from work is reduced by at least 80%. The fossil fuels used to produce the additional utilities and tools you use at the office are cut, too. Deciding to work from home is the green thing to do.

If you don’t currently have a job and are looking for a job in which you can work from home, look for ads that offer telecommuting or legitimate work from home jobs. Stay away from the $2 per envelope stuffing envelopes ads, those are a complete fraud. Otherwise, there are plenty of work from home jobs available, all you have to do is look for them.
